In honor of Black History Month, this event will bring together PR and media professionals to discuss the unique experiences, challenges, and triumphs of Black individuals in the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with peers, gain perspective from a distinguished panel, and engage in meaningful conversations about inclusivity, representation, and empowerment. Emily Cornell

Corporate Communications Manager

Emily Cornell is the US Corporate Communications Manager for Arcadis, a global leader in intelligence-driven sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions. In her role, she focuses on media relations efforts. She has experience executing marketing and communications plans across financial services, sports, insurance, and now at Arcadis, the built environment and sustainability. She’s passionate about learning and creating opportunities for underserved communities. When she doesn’t have her communications cap on, she works on her small cottage bakery, Cheeky Confections.

Ryan Parker

Account Executive, Media Earned

Edelman

Ryan Parker is currently an account executive, earned media at Edelman, where he specializes in working with food and beverage brands including Barilla, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and Cayman Jack. In his role, he leads the charge securing interviews for celebrity partners, securing coverage for his clients' new products and more.

Mr. Parker graduated from Texas State University in 2021 with his Bachelor of Science in Public Relations with more recently earning his Master of Science in Communications from Syracuse University: Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2024.

Prior to joining Edelman, he began his career at FleishmanHillard as a graduate public relations intern in their Dallas and New York offices, supporting media relations efforts for Wingstop, JP Morgan Chase, US Olympic and Paralympic Committee and more before joining HUNTER PR as an account coordinator supporting DIAGEO scotch whiskey portfolio.

Cy White is a multifaceted journalist, music critic, and published author. As a music journalist since 2007, she's had the privilege of interviewing many musicians including Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Rapsody, Crush, Epik High, and Jackson Wang. She's worked in the publishing industry for nearly 15 years, journalism for nearly 20, and is currently an associate producer for KAZI 88.7 FM.
