Annual Student-Professional Shadowing Day
Pro-Am Day matches communications students with real-world professionals for a day of job shadowing, providing practical exposure to communications, marketing, and journalism careers, strategies and tactics in a true working environment. Students are paired with participating organizations throughout Central Texas and will end the day by attending a midday luncheon, featuring a special program.

You would be sharing your knowledge, skills and expertise with a mentee, providing them with a fresh perspective on their profession.

Interested in shadowing a professional in the public relations, marketing or other communications industry? Pro-Am Day allows you to explore a day in the life of a professional, ask questions, gain experience, and make valuable connections. Each student will be assigned to a professional mentor. Pro-Am Day Timeline
9 - 11:30 a.m. -- Students meet up with the professional at his/her office location, mentoring and
shadowing begins (activities designated by organization). Start time can be adjusted as needed.
11:45 a.m. - Noon -- Arrive and Networking before luncheon
Noon - 1 p.m. -- Pro-Am Day Luncheon Panel (walk-ins welcome to luncheon)
1 p.m. -- Optional networking; Close of event
